Chief executive
Mark is a thought leader and practitioner of future normal. He is the CEO of the Globally Responsible Leadership Initiative, a worldwide partnership of companies and business schools taking action to develop the next generation of globally responsible leaders. He also serves as Chairman of the Swedish-based World’s Children’s Prize for the Rights of the Child Foundation and is a member of the advisory board of the Business School of Lausanne. Born in the UK, he studied Philosophy, Politics and Economics at Oxford University then started his business career in mining finance in the City of London. He moved to South Africa in 1989 and joined international diversified industrial company Barloworld Limited. Starting out in the steel and ferrochrome business where he was deeply involved with South Africa’s political transition, he then moved to cement business PPC, and then for a decade headed of Corporate Affairs, Investor Relations and Group Marketing where amongst other work, he led the company’s move into sustainability. In 2007 he stepped out of corporate life into a portfolio career developing his business interests in property, a distillery and asset management company. In 2009 he moved to Europe and took on his current role in the GRLI. Throughout his career he has combined business with engagement in society as a catalyst of change. His is a past board member of San Francisco headquartered 14 000-member International Association of Business Communicators; senior associate of the University of Cambridge Programme for Sustainability Leadership, Deputy Chairman of the Advisory Board of the University of South Africa’s Centre for Corporate Citizenship and Chairman of Africa’s largest indigenous environmental NGO, the Endangered Wildlife Trust. Mark lives in the UK and is married with four young children.

Ms. Eline LOUX Coordinator
Eline was born in Mons, Belgium. During her formative years she studied economics and foreign languages. At the age of 21 she received her Bachelor Degree in Social Communication from the Haute Ecole Groupe ICHEC–St Louis–ISFSC in Brussels. Prior to joining GRLI, she held several intern positions including assistant to the press relations representative at the National Theater of Brussels; a journalistic internship at the web magazine Fashionfact; and as an event manager at L’Obrecheuil Traiteur. Immediately after college, Eline worked as an assistant manager in textile industry and as a press relations representative at Undivided Entertainment. Through the GRLI, she hopes to discover the possibility of making a difference and believes that this is just the beginning.

Anders was raised in an international environment his father was a Swedish MP and Minister of Social Welfare, Health Care and Labour. He went abroad at age 18 to receive a US high school diploma. He thereafter got his master and doctorate degrees at the Stockholm School of Economics (SSE). He has served as President and Dean of the Swedish Institute of Management and Dean of the Vlerick Leuven Gent Management School in Belgium. Anders has been a Senior Vice President and member of the Executive Board of SIAB. He has served as Chairman to the Swedish Fine Art Print Center and Board Member to the Save the Children Alliance. He has throughout his career been deeply engaged in issues of human development, social justice and economic and environmental sustainability with an explicit international outlook. He is currently a Professor at Tongji University in Shanghai, affiliated professor at CENTRUM Catolica in Lima, Peru, and Senior Adviser to EFMD.

Ms. Hannah AINBINDER
Communications Knowledge Unit Intern
Hannah is a junior at Babson College in Wellesley, Massachusetts, where she is currently perusing her BA in business administration and entrepreneurship. Originally from Pågo Bay, Guam, she has traveled to many places around the world. Following her first year at Babson College she became the sole proprietor of a small business on Guam selling personalized USB technology. She has gone on to fill other leadership roles at Babson College and currently serves as one of 7 members of the Class of 2012 Steering Committee. One of her main goals in life is to pursue a business career in which she can make a difference in the world.
