We will support the PRME by sharing our experiences in hands-on learning from the implementation of the six principles in our partner schools.
Creating Communities of Responsible Action (CoRAs). These communities are focussed on a theme and/or set-up as regional or local multistakeholder networks. Examples of setting up geographic CoRAs are found in Brazil, France, and the United Kingdom.
Concept Development/ Research and Publication The collective concept development work is focussed on three main issues: the corporation of the 21st Century, reframing the purpose of business schools and management education, and the process for cultural change in organizations. The partnership with Emerald Publishing has produced two new journals: The Journal of Global Responsibility and The Sustainability Accounting, Management and Policy Journal (SAMPJ).
In a majority of General Assemblies, GRLI has involved students in the discussions, in particular in Mumbai (April 2008). A virtual and potentially physical forum driven and managed by student champions will play a powerful role in engaging students and junior managers from GRLI partner institutions across continents in a debate on concepts developed within GRLI and their integration in the curricula and business practices. Once mobilized, the graduating students would then form the emerging community of responsible young leaders.
Execution of new learning practices is ongoing within the partner organisations with the support on a collective level. Examples are the PETROBRAS Globally Responsible Leadership Manual and In-company Training Programme, new curricula at CENTRUM PUCP and the Whole Person Learning Concept. Their goal is nothing short of a completely fresh set of benchmarks and design principles aligned with the real-time needs and sensibilities of our 21st century. The future has, indeed, arrived and the challenges before us are fierce in their complexity and increasing urgency. |
