EFMD

EFMD's mission is to act as a catalyst to promote and enhance excellence in management development in Europe and worldwide.  It does so by

-           building links between leading business schools and companies;

-           acting as a thought-leader and disseminating knowledge on  best practices and changing trends in management development and management education;

-           providing access to quality improvement through international accreditations and benchmarking (services provided to business schools and business school programmes; corporate universities and technology-enhanced learning programmes);

-           influencing international governmental and non-governmental organizations through advocacy and lobbying.

EFMD has been established as a not-for-profit international association, under Belgian law, in 1971.  With more than 650 members from academia, business and public sector organizations across 75 countries, EFMD provides a unique forum for information-sharing, research, networking and debate on innovation and best practice in management development.

Within its scope, EFMD is committed to offer professionals and institutions involved with management learning and organizational development the opportunity to be part of a dynamic, relevant and diverse network sharing the common objective of developing effective and socially responsible leaders and managers. It is in this context that EFMD signed in 2004 a partnership agreement with the United Nations Global Compact and launched the Global Responsibility Invitation which in turn led to the creation of the Globally Responsible Leadership Initiative.
