Key theme: Reframing the Purpose of Management Education Type: Concept development
Relevance to the GRLI: The 2005 report raised the need for developing approaches which worked with more of the whole person. This project is to create a resource available for those interested in working with whole person learning.

Project Goals: - to develop a Whole Person Learning resource which provides the reader with:
- An overview and guide to implementing a whole person approach to learning with adult learners
- Relevant background to WPL approaches and their application.
- An account of WPL and its place in current practice
- A guide to implementing WPL in practice and some of the considerations that need to apply
- to introduce a common language and introductory text for a wpl approach among GRLI members and in the wider context
- to disseminate learning gained through processes developed and delivered so far
- to gain funding for developing the resource publication
Final Report - October 2007 The book has been the fasted selling publication we have known from Oasis - it has resulted in further interest in the GRLI and whole person learning more specifically. Bryce has represented the approach at efmd Rouen Conference 2007 for business educators etc.
2nd report - October 2006: In preparation for the Whole Person Learning process in April 2007, Barloworld have decided to support the development by The Oasis School of a publication aimed at becoming a global resource for Whole Person Learning - thinking and practice.
The audience - For existing teaching, faculty and training staff who are looking at new methods
- For facilitators wanting to deepen their understanding of their own practice
- For the informed learner who wants to have some over view of the method they are entering into
Possible impact - Provide the first user-friendly introduction and overview to the field
- Provide a focal point for developing facilitators either via GRLI, Oasis, Barloworld or, partner organisations.
- Help establish the value importance and relevance of WPL approaches for adults in contemporary settings dealing with current issues.
- Become a standard reference work for those GRLI programmes or elements of programmes applying WPL and beyond
- Link the GRLI work to wider questions of educational facilitation
Timetable June 2006 to February 2007: Writing, readers and editing 19th April: Book launch at the General Assembly
1st Report - April 2006 The publication was launched at the Leeds GA. We are delighted that Henri-Claude de Bettignies contributed the Introduction, with a Foreword by the GRLI Chair, Mr Mark Drewell.
